Wade Undergoes Successful Knee Surgery
Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade went under the knife early Monday morning to surgically repair his left knee. The procedure only took about 20 minutes and the Heat star tweeted soon after, “doing fine”.
The surgery was to repair the same knee that was hampering Wade throughout the playoffs, the very same knee that he had drained mid-way through the Indiana series. He fully expects to be present for the start of training camp having chosen to have the procedure done so early in the offseason. Though Dwyane was a lock to represent the United States in the Olympic Games in London this year, he chose to have surgery and recover instead. Sadly for Heat fans and U.S.A. basketball fans, they won’t have the opportunity to see Flash suit up in the red, white, and blue. Recovery and rehab time is estimated to take about eight weeks.
Dwyane is very much looking forward to getting back on the court to defend his title as well as get to know his new teammate, Ray Allen. “It’s weird, because you say the guys that you mark on your calendar – ‘Oh, I’ve got to go against this guy that night’ – two of them are on my team now, LeBron James and Ray Allen.” Wade said of his teammates.
